The civil wedding ceremony is performed at the anvil and is similar to that performed in a Registrar's Office. Gretna Hall Blacksmith's is licensed for Civil marriage ceremonies which are performed by a Civil Marriage Celebrant.
Booking a Civil Marriage Celebrant
When we receive your Booking Form for the hire of the room we will then apply for a celebrant on your behalf and send you a confirmation of the booking. This confirmation will include instructs as to what to do next.
Paying Registrar's Fees
The Registrar's fees must be paid direct to the registrars.
Monday - Friday: £170.00
Saturday: £242.00
Sundays & Public Holidays: £280.00
Do not send any fees until you have recieved confirmation
from us.
Personalising the Service
Any enquiries concerning the style of the civil wedding ceremony, wording, or re-marriage should be referred to the Celebrant via the Registration Office.
Civil Wedding Ceremonies between 3 months and a year away
The Gretna Registrar's Office will not accept M10 forms any more than three months in advance. If your chosen date is more than three months away, a payment of £63.00 must be sent to:

This is not the attendance fee: it confirms the booking of a celebrant, but this cannot be done until we have sent you
confirmation that a registrar can attend.
The remaining balance is due within three months of the wedding date along with your M10 forms and relevant documents. These must be sent to: Gretna Registration Office, Central Ave, Gretna DG16 5AQ, www.gretnaonline.net.
